I’m an artist living in Paris, and I draw people.
My journey into fine art has taken some unexpected turns. I earned my BFA from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma and spent the early part of my creative career in graphic design. From there, I moved into photography — living and working in New York City, Los Angeles, and Oklahoma City for over 15 years, specializing in portraits and fashion.
Then I spent nearly a decade as a custom knife maker. My knives were featured in Oklahoma Today magazine, the book and exhibition Artster, and exhibited in the Art Now group show at the Oklahoma City Contemporary Art Museum. I created custom pieces for renowned chefs and restaurants, including the restaurant named Best New Restaurant in America 2018 by Bon Appétit magazine.
Now, I’m back to drawing. Sketching. Observing. Making marks. I walk the streets of Paris, sketchbook in hand, documenting life and the people who live it. My work focuses on gesture drawing and capturing the spirit of a moment — whether it’s a quiet studio portrait or a five-second sketch in a bustling café.
This site is a place for my blog, online short courses, and for visitors to Paris to join me for in-person sketchbook sessions in the city.
If you’re passionate about drawing, curious about seeing the world through an artist’s eyes, or just need a nudge to get started, you’re in the right place.
