It's always great to have support from friends but the greatest joy is to be able to capture beautiful photos of those friends. Reseth is very lucky to have wonderful friends in Kristen and Brad and I was happy to be able to do a combined creativity shoot with them. We had a blast hanging out by the lake and enjoying the afternoon. I love spending time shooting in the beautiful Oklahoma landscape. It seems like this time of year that the quality of light is unlike any other. Kristen and Brad are a great couple and a joy to be around. I it was awesome to have had the chance to get to know them.

Spring is in the air! I love this time of year in Oklahoma. The days are getting longer and warmer. It's the perfect time for Combined Creativity location portraits. We had a great shoot with Veronica last week. She is a native Canadian and is here while her father serves at Tinker AFB. We explored some rural locations just outside OKC and found some beautiful places that we will for sure be using again. The end of the day offered such a perfect sunset that set the sky on fire! I am really happy with the results. Enjoy!
You still have a chance to book a Combined Creativity shoot for yourself. Contact the studio to check our availability. You can also see more photos from this shoot on Reseth Photography's blog.

Wow! I have had such a great response to our "Combined Creativity" shoots! We had done Mrs. Oklahoma pageant head shots for Kristin earlier in the year and she contacted me again to photograph her beautiful family. She had enjoyed her "Combined Creativity" head shot session so much she wanted to do the same thing for her family session. Reseth Photography and I were so excited to be able to spend a beautiful morning with the Brawleys. We spent some time around midtown capturing the beautiful mid-morning light. We had a red wagon super cool sidewalks and too much fun. I wish Kristin the best of luck next month in the Mrs. Oklahoma Pageant. Also, Kristin has a great boutique in Northpark Mall called Tres Chic. You should really stop by and check it out. It's awesome!

What an awesome shoot! Anna Marie Costello contacted Reseth Photography and I and wanted to book a combined creativity shoot. She was recently crowned Miss Oklahoma International and needed to updated her head shots and portfolio. I love doing combined creativity shoots because it gives me a chance to work with another outstanding photographer and give our clients something special. There is a philosophy that Reseth and I both believe in, "It's not how much you can add but rather what you can take away that makes a great image." Photography should be about the interaction between subject and photographer. It is about creating images that engage the viewer with emotion and substance. Whether it be through equipment, lighting, or post production, great photographs are about taking away all of the obstacles to reveal the personality and beauty of your subject. Anna Marie made that part of our job so easy. She is super fun, sweet, beautiful and has such a big personality there was no way that it could not come through in her photos. She represents our state very well and is an amazing role model to young women in Oklahoma and across America. I wish her all the best in the Miss International Pageant this July. She has my vote!

The Anthony David Agency officially launched this past weekend. They have a great website and many outstanding models. Reseth and I have both been lucky to work with a lot of them on their portfolio development. It gives us both a chance to experiment and try new things photographically. We have decided that studio work would really create something unique and special to add to our photographic arsenal. Reseth is also a model with the Anthony David Agency and what better way to launch our studio work than to update her portfolio. My philosophy has always been to keep things simple. I strive to put the least amount of obstacles between myself and success as possible. We discussed many options and techniques that we could have used for this shoot but came to the conclusion that a creative editorial approach was the best way to go. We limited our tools to one lens, one light and a white seamless background. From those three elements we then expanded the process to create a Gobo from a piece of the white seamless background paper. Technically a "Gobo" is anything that "goes between" the light source and your subject. It's a simple technique that can create striking effects. From a subtle pattern that may fall on the background to add a textural element, to something more pronounced like we went with, Gobos are a fairly simple way to add striking elements to images. The studio shoot was a success and we gained so many ideas that we can use in the future.
The next day we had a client meeting in Norman and were lucky enough to get a quick snow storm. We very well couldn't pass up the chance to shoot in the snow! Enjoy! :)
