It has been a great year and I am really lucky and blessed to have had the support of friends and family. Facebook has been great for my business. It gives me the chance to connect with friends I haven't seen or talked to in quite some time. I have also enjoyed sharing my photography with all of my Facebook friends. The Turnpike Troubadours are a super talented group of Okies. They are awesome musicians and their new album is outstanding! Their new single "Every Girl" is currently #12 in the Texas Music Charts! They were playing in OKC at The Wormy Dog Saloon this weekend and I had the opportunity to do some live photos of the show. It was an absolute blast!

When I was a kid I always wondered what it would be like to be on stage rockin' with the band. The thing I love about the Troubadours is that they let me do what I want. I am able to get close and I really get a feel for what its like from the stage. The light is so different from the inside looking out. All the stage light is pointing at you and offers so many opportunities to capture color in a way that you can't from the crowd. You get a sense of the stage and the room and the reality of being right there. It's a very intense experience being that close to the music. I wanted to make some impressionistic images to capture the look of the sound and the feel of the energy of the night. I think it came off very well. I am going to be working on a project with the band in the near future and I am really excited to get to spend some more time photographing such an awesome group of musicians.

I had a great night seeing old friends and making some new ones! You have to go see the band live. You WILL have fun!!  

I really enjoyed my portrait session with Melanie. She is a talented Hair Stylist and Makeup Artist. She is looking forward to getting her feet wet in the Wedding business. I am sure she will do great! I am really looking forward to working with her.
