Dixi and Kristin are going to be competing in the Mrs. Oklahoma competition this spring. I was excited to be able to photograph their pageant head shots. I wish their could be more than one winner because I think they would both represent this state very well. I wish them both the best of luck.

One of the things I believe in greatly is collaboration. Photography often times can seem like a solitary venture. It really doesn't have to be. I know there is a community of great photographers and creative minds right here in Oklahoma. I believe to build that community and to make it even stronger we must collaborate and share ideas. A few months ago I decided to team up with Reseth Photography. We kicked around some ideas and came up with the concept of "Combined Creativity" to give our wedding clients something special. We have decided not to limit the Combined Creativity concept to weddings only.

Lately we have been commissioned to shoot some fashion photography. This gives us the perfect opportunity to hone our ideas and experiment with technique in a creative way. Kathleen is a model from the Anthony David Agency and she contacted us for a portfolio shoot. The shoot was really great and I decided to do a combined blog to showcase the work from the day.

The Combined Creativity concept when applied to other projects like fashion photography allows us to bring technique and concepts back to our wedding and portrait photography. We are able to give our clients work that is fresh, creative and informed by all of our successes as creative photographers. I am looking forward to doing more of it!

Jordan was so fun to work with! She contacted Reseth and I for some work for her modeling portfolio. We had great makeup and hair from Peyton at the Velvet Monkey Salon in OKC. We shot around Midtown and Downtown OKC. I love exploring this area of the city. It seems like every time I shoot there I find new and exciting things. Reseth and I are working with Anthony David Agency to provide models with shots for their portfolios. We are also extending this offer to other local models who need to update their portfolios. Samantha needed some photos for her fashion portfolio. We decided to shoot around downtown OKC. We ended the shoot at a really cool location. See if you can guess where the location was! Here is a clue... London, England is also famous for theirs.

I had a great fashion shoot earlier in the week. Reseth and I had the opportunity to work with a really cool model Jenny. We had a lot of fun shooting at the State Fair park. We had perfect soft light and some really great locations that worked out really well for this shoot. The one factor that made this shoot really special was the hair and makeup artists we were able to work with. Erica Elaine did hair and Lindsey Wilson was responsible for the makeup. I can say enough great things about their work. They made my job so easy! Book them at Lollies Beauty Bar in Norman, Ok. We were also able to work with some clothing from Birdie Boutique also in Norman, Ok. Thanks to everyone for such a great shoot!
