Sometimes clients have to cancel shoots. It's not fun but it is understandable. What's a photographer to do? Well, if you have a really great business partner assisting you on the shoot then you make the best of the day. That is exactly what Reseth and I did.

We decided it would be best to try to hone our skills by focusing on using back light in portraits. You can get some really beautiful effects with this technique. We had a great time taking pics of each other and working on our photo skills.

Fall is here and it could not be more perfect for location portraits. I find that this time of year offers a quality of light that stands apart from all other seasons. There is something about the mood that early Autumn light creates. It's can be very nostalgic and so so beautiful. The sad part is, it won't last long.
