Everyone that knows me knows how much I love music. I love it even more when it's live and played by good friends. Halloween night I had the chance to photograph the Turnpike Troubadours in Bircktown, OKC. These guys really know how to put on a show. They are all excellent musicians and really make a big impact with their original and energetic take on the Red Dirt sound. You have to get out and see these guys soon. I had the chance to get out and shoot some of the beautiful fall colors today. Some days I really love OKC. Today was one of those days.

Reseth and Jonathan are a lot of fun and great folks. I think this shoot captured their personalities perfectly. Reseth is an amazing photographer and I'm fortunate to have her help me with my shoots. Jonathan serves our country in the USAF and we are all fortunate to have him protecting our country.  We ended up shooting at a great location Reseth found near lake Draper. The weather was perfect for a shoot and the landscape is in the process of turning those rich and beautiful falls colors. We could not have asked for better circumstances for our shoot. I love this time of year!

Sometimes clients have to cancel shoots. It's not fun but it is understandable. What's a photographer to do? Well, if you have a really great business partner assisting you on the shoot then you make the best of the day. That is exactly what Reseth and I did.

We decided it would be best to try to hone our skills by focusing on using back light in portraits. You can get some really beautiful effects with this technique. We had a great time taking pics of each other and working on our photo skills.

Fall is here and it could not be more perfect for location portraits. I find that this time of year offers a quality of light that stands apart from all other seasons. There is something about the mood that early Autumn light creates. It's can be very nostalgic and so so beautiful. The sad part is, it won't last long. I went with my little sister to see U2 play in Norman. What an amazing show! It's hard to really describe the size and scale of the production. Wow! U2 could not have sounded better and played 2 hours non stop. It was great to see some old friends at the show and share a great concert experience with them. I often find inspiration in music and this show was really inspiring. It got me thinking about how to approach art and creating lasting work. For a band that has been around 30 years they are still making beautiful music that is fresh and relevant. I will carry last night with me as a source of inspiration an motivation for a very long time. Thanks U2!
